VISION:
To establish good stewardship of the earth in accordance with God’s mandate, via DESIGN across multiple knowledge domains by collaboration.

MISSION:
The main objectives are to establish an ECOSYSTEM for sustainable development, through design-thinking and mentorship via real-time projects that become prototypes and models.
To therefore support advocacy, publishing, the arts and architecture, research and material studies, and Academic-Laboratory Mentorship programs that enhance and build the ecosystem of SUSTAINABLE RESILIENCE across domains for the good of communities and to do so in a wholistic, collaborative and inter-disciplinary way.
DESIGN THINKING will be key to these projects and programs.

PEOPLE

FOUNDER / TRUSTEES/ ADVISORS:

NISHA MATHEW GHOSH
Nisha Mathew Ghosh’s architecture practice situates itself within the larger practice of Mathew and Ghosh Architects, India which she co-founded with Soumitro Ghosh in 1996.

Her reflective practice is a confluence of many strands from Architecture, Design (which includes among others, the experimentation with and commitment to sustainable upcycled textiles for Home), and Community outreach via up-skilling projects. Underlying these multiple strands is a commitment to IDEAS especially those at the threshold of urban settlements and ecology, especially Water, Forest and Air. She is interested in mapping of ideas developed in the Indian subcontinent in the areas of ecology that have far reaching resonances.

Her recent built project is a private home project called House of Stories (in collaboration with Soumitro Ghosh) which is a mapping of light via the spatial envelope. Her other works include the seminal competition entry for the Bhopal Gas Tragedy Memorial which was based on the cleaning of the brownfield.

She is recently selected to design and curate the India Pavilion installation at the London Design Biennale 2021 where high design will meet ecology.

Her vision in the area of textiles where she has experimented for many years is to create a wholistic cyclical economy in the conceptualisation of home textiles that can re-envision sustainability, upcycling and recycling as responsible stewards of God’s creation. This to ensure that a model is created which can be prototyped – which via excellence in design, and aspiring to the highest standards of ethical manufacturing and sourcing – by which color dye filaments and fabric strands may not reach the Oceans.

She investigates a re-look at SUSTAINABILITY as the story of IDEAS, whether Architecture, Design Textiles or other, to commit to the Stewardship of the larger ECOLOGY. She was the Founder Trustee of the MGsCc Foundation in 2017.
