India has been blessed with almost every topographical feature, from the highest mountains to hottest deserts, from perennial rivers to large fresh water lakes, from cold arid plateaus to valleys full of flowers; the natural beauty and the sheer number of environmental treasures are an endless delight.
That being said, the age of man, and the shift towards living in burgeoning, densely-packed urban clusters weighs heavily on shared natural resources.
The India Pavilion will share tableaus of Urban and Ecological Hope, by roping in those who are the future of this world; the youth, with those who have dedicated themselves to sustainable change and practices.
At Sustainability Idea Labs, it is our belief that the five specified intervention areas can create a domino effect of resonance for future generations, to ignite hope, and be a beacon for a cleaner future. The aim is to explore, incubate and promote a tapestry of ideas from diverse fields and ages that showcase viable alternatives to an environment-human-friendly future.
To begin our national showcase, Sustainability Idea Labs has begun to map and document some of the extraordinary initiatives that are being implemented across the length and breadth of the country. They deserve to be shared and celebrated. Ideas potentially build more ideas and our collective exposure to these is the starting point for change.
Small ideas often make the biggest impact, and then it is up to us to support them and ensure that the initiatives and ideas no longer remain small but create the change, and the future that we seek.
